When accelerating really hard, a nasty noise/vibration starts (almost like noisy tappets used to be!) - once the accelerating is over (or reduced) it stops, ie it isn't maintained at constant speed or less severe acceleration. Unlike the forms for the other diesel vehicles I own, the F-Pace diesel forum is not full of posts with mechanical and emission problems. Is the Ingenium 2.0 a better design or have we just been lucky. If anyone has experienced some problems, shout it out with a post.

1 Answer. I have a 2002 X type (2 litre. done 44000 miles), dash showed gear box problem, (red circle light up). I pulled out and turned the engine off. 5 minutes later turned the engine on. The engine running but the car would not drive either in drive or reverse. Turned the engine off again and on the car driving but not much power.

When starting from cold the engine starts with quite a bang, if it were a petrol engine I'd suspect the ignition timing was too far advanced.
